How to buy shares?

This can be done in two ways. Then the question that comes directly to mind is how?
Here's how to do it. There are two parts as the primary market and the secondary market (that is ???).

The primary market is?

It is the first time that shares and debentures have been issued to the public. What happens here is that a company advertises in the media that it is issuing basic shares or debentures to the public to meet their needs.
So what to do next !!!
I forgot to mention, each of these companies publishes a book called Corporate Statement. (This is provided free of charge)

So how do you buy stocks now?
Here's how to do it. Each of these companies mentions the corporate statement and the required documentation in their initial release ads,
and now many websites have links to download those documents as well. All you have to do is get the documents, fill them out correctly, pay the amount you owe and hand it over to the designated place.

The company will then credit the relevant amount of shares to you in your Central Deposit Fund (CDS) account.
If you do not currently have a CDS account, the company will issue you a share certificate for the shares you have acquired.

You can sell these shares whenever you want. Remember, you have to sell these shares in the secondary market.

The secondary market

The second sale and purchase of shares and debentures issued in the primary market take place in this market. This is where the Colombo Stock Exchange and the intermediaries come into play.

In the next part, I will explain to you how to trade in this market.
